To Talk from Scratch

I ask forgiveness to every absent person
but I'm no longer interested in you
since the tide erased
my drawings under one inconvenience

In front of my sea
when I was a child,
in front of a tear
when I didn't understand myself.

And they're not wounds,
it's a moon crack that laughs
about this birthday in February,
about that which I already knew then.

I'm counting failed caresses,
may all the big wounds close.
And I ask God every day to show me
even one single tiny story.
Hence, I close my eyes and then I see
the chapters of an ancient book
and I no longer know who I am, nor the words,
but you teach me to count for real
and to talk from scratch.

Me, I hadn't even learnt to run at your age,
but when my own dad looked proudly at me,
I smiled the way you do at me.

I'm counting failed caresses,
may all the big wounds close.
And I ask God every day to show me
even one single tiny story.
Hence, I close my eyes and then I see
the chapters of an ancient book
and I no longer know who I am, nor the words,
but you teach me to count for real
and to talk

As if all fears
met to celebrate
my most daring agony,
'cause I died but here no one dies
until it's over.
